There are plenty of tourist attractions in Northumberland to visit, some of the most popular are:

Hadrian’s Wall

A popular tourism spot in Northumberland. There are walking trails and cycling trails by the wall. There are plenty of forts and turrets along the wall as well as museums such as Vindolanda or Segedunum with historical information and artefacts. On the wall near Steel Rigg is the famous Sycamore Gap which featured in the film Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.

Vindolanda

Vindolanda Fort and Museum in Bardon Mill contains one of the largest displays of Roman artefacts with new things being discovered in the frequent excavation days that take place.

Roman Army Museum

The Roman Army Museum, like Vindolanda, contains many Roman artefacts. The artefacts in this museum though are more focused on the history of the powerful Roman Army. The artefacts and information provide a detailed look in to how the soldiers lived and what weapons they used.

Chesters Roman Fort and Museum

This fort and museum site in Chollerford features the remains of a Roman Garrison and Bath House. The museum features religious artefacts and jewellery discovered by John Clayton who was nicknamed ‘Saviour of the Wall’ for all the work he did and artefacts he discovered.

Kielder Water and Forest Park

Kielder Forest and Water Park offers a lot of things to see such as: The Calvert Trust, Kielder Observatory, Birds of Prey Centre and Kielder Castle.

Go Ape

A high ropes course in Matfen, Northumberland, Go Ape is an adventure course which goes up to 30 metres high and include: rope climbing, stirrups, half trapeze, ziplining and a skateboard zipline.
